The Most Delicious Frozen Pizzas, According to Foodies
1. DiGiorno
As the saying goes, “it’s not delivery, it’s DiGiorno!” Although not to be mistaken for a restaurant pie, this freezer favorite is guaranteed to satisfy in a pinch. While DiGiorno may not compete with a fresh-from-the-oven slice from a favorite pizza joint, Buzzfeed says it excels at what it does best. It’s fresh and fluffy, establishing its supremacy for a reason.
Restaurant Clicks hails DiGiorno as a veritable legend in the realm of frozen pizzas, making it an excellent choice for a quick pizza fix. While its flavors may be slightly milder than other options, the classic frozen pizza brand does not disappoint when enjoyed hot out of the oven.
But what makes DiGiorno stand out from the rest? Today says its pillowy crust that rises impressively is what takes the cake…or the pie, in this case. The cheese is also superior, resulting in “ooey-gooey mozzarella strands worthy of an Instagram Reel,” they write.
2. Newman’s Own
If your favorite pizza joint is famed for its delicious thin crust, Newman’s Own is what you’ll want to keep stocked in your freezer. Reviewers across the internet were wowed by the crunch and flavor of the brand’s popular thin crust pizzas. Delish recommends the brand for those desiring a thin and crispy pizza base. They also mention that the crispiness receives unanimous praise from tasters, who appreciated its substantial feel.
According to NY Times, Newman’s Own presents a slightly elevated version of the classic thin-crust style seen in brands like Tombstone and Red Baron. It tastes authentic, unlike other pies that you can tell are mass-produced by a machine.
While delicious, the best part of a Newman’s Own pizza is arguably not the taste but the good done with every purchase. Food Network applauds Newman’s Own for its quick and perfectly crisp crust. The pepperoni, made from real beef and pork without added nitrites, stands out with its generous portion on each slice. They mention that 100 percent of net profits are donated to charities and nonprofits.
3. Red Baron
A nostalgic favorite, Red Baron pizza might not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of a delicious frozen pizza. But numerous reviewers agree that this slice is more than worth the price of admission. Today says this brand is all the evidence you need that you don’t need expensive ingredients to make something delicious. They also suggest adding a dash of Tabasco for a little extra spice.
Delish agrees on the nostalgia factor that comes with grabbing a slice of Red Baron. They say it reminds them of the pizza of school cafeterias and birthday parties. They also commend the ratio of sauce to cheese.
But just because it resembles school lunch pizza doesn’t mean it isn’t high quality. In fact, Buzzfeed goes as far as to say it is the closest to New York-style as they come. Now, that’s impressive!
4. Amy’s
For a healthier choice, opt for an Amy’s pizza made with organic ingredients and no GMOs. But while it claims some health benefits, it doesn’t taste like a compromise. Their Four Cheese Pizza features a “combination of mozzarella, Parmesan, Fontina, and provolone,” according to Bon Appetit. “It also contains honey, most likely as a substitute for some sugar in the sauce (although it also contains some sugar, so who knows?), and red wine vinegar.” Delish finds this pie the most flavorful across all the brands they tested due to the impressive cheese quality.
Restaurant Clicks does warn that it is on the smaller side compared to competitors in the freezer aisle. But it makes up for it in flavor! How? They say the crust is the perfect chewiness and the sauce is rich. Yum!
5. Tombstone
This pick is another that seems synonymous with pizza parties in elementary school. But believe it or not, this classic stands the test of time with great flavor at a great price. NY Times recommends this brand for the element of nostalgia that comes with it, paired with the inexpensive price point. “This pie screams sleepover pizza—delightful, if not wholesome—and does what it does well,” they add in their review.
While Tombstone offers the basic pepperoni and cheese pies, many reviewers say this is a pizza best enjoyed with plenty of toppings. For something loaded on the topping front, Today swears by their Supreme variety, which is loaded with pepperoni, peppers, olives, and sausage. What more could you ask for?
MSN says to try the Roadhouse Double Down Deluxe flavor. Why? They write: “This pizza is an obvious winner. The pie has a lot of flavors going on, but they all complement each other really well, plus the sauce is on point and the crust is just the right amount of crispy.”

Palermo’s has the best!! Period.
“pros” huh? I’m sure they’re bought and paid for
No the best is nick Vito sausage & pepperoni.
Right! Except it’s Vito and Nick’s 11 pizza. The best frozen pizza around, and from Chicago!
Try Home Run Inn at Safeway. From Chicago. Highest volume of frozen pizza sales in the Chicago area.
You can get Home Run Inn at Albertsons, Sprouts & Aldi here in Southern California. And yes, it’s from Chicago. The best!
Y’all should try the brand Gino’s East of Chicago it’s a Chicago style pizza comes in different varies but very delicious ????
The home store Menards believe it or not sells a frozen pizza that is delicious. I was skeptical at first but I was pleasantly surprised how delicious it was. I promise you, you’ll go back for more.
That would be the Brew Pub Lotzza Motzza pizza. The best!
Another delicious pizza is Slapnuts pizza, number one in the USA. TRY IT. It’s only $4 a pizza.

Connie’s Super
I here good things about Connors, but only available in 5 states.
I meant to say ‘Home Run Inn’ is the gold standard for frozen pies.
I totally agree. Home Run Inn by far.
Yes! Home Run Inn frozen pizza is so yummy. Ingredients are fresh, top notch. You will never buy another frozen pizza. About $8.00 on sale at Albertsons.
Home Run is the gold standard for frozen pies.
You forgot Home Run pizza. Their crust is the best!!!
Try Connie’s thin crust pizza supreme; far better than Digiorno or Red Baron. For a thin crust, has great taste.
Motor City Pizza is GREAT!!
Yes!!!
Too thick of crust, bread I mean too thick.
Can’t believe Home Run Inn isn’t mentioned. That and Brew Pub Lotzza Motzza are so much better than Digiorno or Red Baron!
I agree with first 2, but a red baron cooked well has crusty crust, and hits the spot for cost.
I would challenge anyone, anywhere in the U. S. to actually find a better frozen pizza than Chicago’s Home Run Inn!
With 8 different options for toppings, usually under $8 and available at most major grocers, it’s got the tastiest crispy, yeasty, buttery, perfect crust you ever tried, delicious uncured top quality meat, its all organic and you can’t even find a delivery chain pizza that tastes better than a Home Run Inn!
I’m warning you, every person I’ve ever told about this pizza has thanked me and stopped buying anything else and as long as they have one in their freezer, they won’t call for a pizza delivery either!
Thank me right here later!
Where are you from?that’s one I have not seen b4..I am in new york
You should try Pep’s Drafthouse pizza I believe it is the best.
I grew up in Chicago and the first pizza I ever had was from Home Run Inn. The best hands down.
I agree with first 2, but a red baron cooked well has crusty crust, and hits the spot for cost.Connies is just as good as HRI, maybe better but only available in Midwest.

Bellatoria is the one we buy all the time!!
To each their own but every Digiorno’s I’ve ever had was not good, same with Red Baron. It’s like they got the idea of pizza down but didn’t do it right…. Bland toppings as well as weak cheese and sauce.
My family has had consistently good pizzas from Heggies, Lottza Mottza, Jack’s, Roma, Pizza Corner,
red barons original Supreme is actually pretty damn good.
Wait a minute! You can’t go from Screaming Sicilian to Tony’s in 10 steps! Palermo’s pizza is the maker of the Screaming Sicilian brand, and for $7-8, it knocks all the pizza delivery chains down a notch. The veggies on the supreme are as fresh as you can get in a frozen pizza, and the meats are top choice. I would say that Screaming Sicilian frozen pizza is the best frozen pizza you can buy. There’s alternatives to frozen, like the take and bake types from the supermarket or Walmart, but that’s a different story. If you’re ever in Wisconsin and want a small thin crust pizza on the cheap, stop in a Kwik Trip and grab yourself an Urge pizza.
Pothole pizza sold at kwik trip is my favorite frozen pizza thee kitchen sink has everything on it digiorno used to be my favorite. Give it a try
SKINNYPIZZA can be found in the freezer section.. its so good that local pubs have it on their menu and serve it as their ‘Homemade Bar Pie’. The recipe is a local NY pizzaria recipe (Originally from Napoli, Italy).. the guys still are operating and have a local spot open.. if you’re in the area check it out, if your in the supermarket freezer section, look for it..
I miss Oprah’s Cauliflower Crust pizzas. They were delicious and different. Don’t remember the brand, but a chick pea crust pie was great. It tasted a lot like traditional crust. There was just enough of a hint of sweetness to distinguish it from a dough-based crust.
