If you’re trying to eat healthy, frozen pizza isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. Dietitians often warn these pizzas are loaded with carbs, fat, too much sodium, and hidden sugars. But don’t worry, not all frozen pizzas are created equal. 

If you’re craving a slice, you can find healthier options that taste good in the frozen food aisle – you just need to know where to look. That’s where we come in. We’ve taken the guesswork out of the process, so you don’t have to spend hours comparing nutrition charts on the back of each pizza box. Dive into pizza heaven with our list of the top five healthiest frozen pizzas on the market, as rated by nutritionists from eight different websites. 1. Amy’s Margherita Thin Pizza

Known for its organic ingredients and commitment to quality Amy’s Kitchen Margherita pizza has better numbers than most frozen pizzas, with 15 grams of protein and only three grams of added sugar. But how does it taste? Muscle and Fitness says it’s “pretty close” to what you will get at an Italian restaurant.

Testers at Good Housekeeping agree this thin-crust pizza tastes fresh and is even a hit with kids. A tried-and-true brand in the frozen and prepared food categories, Amy’s doesn’t disappoint. 

With lower calories and average sodium content, Eat This, Not That believes this is a solid choice for pizza night. While on the expensive side, it’s still cheaper than ordering out, and you won’t feel guilty for indulging.

2. Banza Protein Pizzas

Cauliflower pizzas are hot right now as more people cut down on carbs, but have you tried chickpea crust? It’s the base for the Banza All Cheese Pizza, which is gluten-free and packed with protein. According to Eat This, Not That, it’s not only delicious, but the crust is crispy with a doughy center.

Parade loves the roasted veggie version of this pizza, calling it “fiber on fiber.” Banza, the first brand to use chickpeas for pizza crust, loads it with protein and fiber. It’s truly a standout pie.

If a Margherita pizza is more your speed, Banza’s chickpea version has seven grams of fiber and a whopping 16 grams of protein. While Good Housekeeping taste testers wished it had less salt, they agreed it’s tastier than a cauliflower crust and will fill you up.

3. Newman’s Own

If you love spinach and lemon, Good Housekeeping recommends Newman’s Own Authentic Italian Stone-Fired Crust Spinaci & Formaggi Pizza, which offers the most protein out of any pizza on our list: 17 grams per serving. While some taste testers felt the pizza was too lemony, they loved the simple ingredients in the crust.

The Newman’s Own Harvest Vegetable pizza is loaded with colorful veggies, helping to keep the calorie count under the radar. Muscle and Fitness admits the pie has more sodium than necessary, but the saucy tomatoes are delicious and you’ll feel like you ordered out.

Food Network thinks the Margherita pizza is the healthiest option from Newman’s Own, offering 25% of your daily calcium and 10% of your daily vitamin A. While the sodium is a bit high, it has fewer calories per serving. Plus, it tastes pretty good too.

4. 365 Frozen Thin Crust, Mediterranean

A selection from Whole Foods comes in at number four on our list and is a great option, especially if you love black olives. They give this pizza a “meaty” texture without the greasy pepperoni. Plus, you can’t go wrong with the classic Greek combo of spinach and feta cheese. However, since the pie is still high in sodium, Muscle and Fitness reminds you to cut back on sodium elsewhere in your diet for the day.

Eating a third of this pie will only cost you 300 calories! Dietician Lisa Young tells Eat This, Not That it’s also loaded with 13 grams of protein and has no added sugar! It’s a great option to keep in your freezer when you crave a pie. Just be sure not to eat the whole thing yourself if you want to keep it light.

You may want to eat the whole thing, however, because this pizza is seasoned so well, it’s a party with every bite. Best of all, Parade notes it’s Mediterranean diet-approved, so when your doctor recommends switching to that diet, you’re already in compliance.

5. Caulipower Margherita Stone-Fired Cauliflower Pizza

This pizza has a lower sodium count for half a pie than most frozen pizzas making it a top choice for Good Housekeeping. Also, the cauliflower crust will fool even the pickiest eaters.

Parade notes you can’t go wrong with any pizza in Caulipower’s lineup, but like Good Housekeeping, their reviewers also like the Margherita Pizza. Caulipower is the first company to offer a cauliflower crust and it’s still a fan favorite. 

With only five grams of saturated fat and 12 grams of protein, this gluten-free option hits it out of the park. Did we mention it’s also only 350 calories for half a pie? Eat This, Not That agrees that’s very reasonable, so dig in!
